Want to work in executive protection? This is how much you'll earn.

How do you know what sort of rate to pay when hiring CP officers?

According to an article posted in 2012 by the Business Insider, wages can range from as low as USD45 per hour for event security gigs, to USD1,500 per hour for top-level executive protection gigs.

CP Officers with Child Protection training demand a higher wage.

Of course, this article is about 7 years old, and wages especially those in the MIddle-East have gone way down because of market saturation. Nowadays almost everyone who applies for these jobs possesses military experience and a CP qualification.

When we first started going down the route of direct provision of protection officers, a number of our Southeast Asian clients were flabbergasted at these rates; until I told them that these were a representation of the rates that Western companies charge.

It costs significantly less to live and work and in Southeast Asia, and I felt that a lot of "foreign" companies from the West failed to an extent to understand the cost of living or indeed Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) in these areas of the world.

We of course pay our protection officers a commensurate wage; we've had no complaints at all from our Malaysian and Singaporean operatives currently on assignment.

Of course, we only deploy our graduates who have successfully passed our CP courses. It wouldn't be fair otherwise.
